| Synopsis | AIDS cases are on the rise. Teens are getting pregnant. STDs are running rampant through the world's youth. We can stop this if sex education is made mandatory in all schools across the world. |
| Full Description | Here's the deal. As it is, most schools will have students' parents sign a form saying whether or not they want their kids to have sex ed taught to them. Some parents only want their kids to hear the abbreviated version without the details about STDs and other dangerous things associated with sex. I propose that this be dropped, so that every person in the world will know what they are doing when they decide to have sex. Now, I know I am treading on risky ground here. I know that many people will tell me that they don't want their kids to go through all of that 'disgusting stuff', like condoms, pills, STDs, and the like, associated with sex ed. But would you rather a teacher educated your children about the risks of sex before a doctor has to in a hospital? Mandatory sex ed can save lives in this respect, not just from death, but from having an STD that could ruin your life forever. Even if this method of teaching only keeps ten percent of people who would have gotten a disease and ruined their lives from getting one, that would save thousands, if not millions of people. The class would teach all methods of protection and abstinence, as well as all things related to STDs, pregnancy, and the like. Don't we owe it to our children to ensure that they have a safer, healthier, and better life than we have today? |
